Solitude is an essential tool for any truth seeker and an invaluable aid for mental health. Spending time alone in reflection allows us to put the universe and our place in it, in perspective.
When I used to live in the city, I found myself was getting sicker by the day. I had this deep yearning to be close to the earth. After having graphic fantasies of rolling in the dirt naked and covering myself in mud, I realized I was clearly suffering from lack of elemental medicine- the earth! (And not to mention a mineral deficiency!). I knew my emotional and physical health were in danger.
